"I don't think politics has anything to do with left, right, or center. It has to do with trying to do right by people."

"Oregon is an inspiration. Whether you come to it, or are born to it, you become entranced by our state's beauty, the opportunity she affords, and the independent spirit of her citizens."

-Tom McCall

Mike Ellison comes from a working-class family with deep Oregon roots. He is a union electrician, Maggie's husband, and proud father of three amazing boys. As your State Representative, Mike will be an undaunted advocate for our working-class and low-income families. He will remain steadfast and immovable in our pursuit of social and racial equity. He will fight to ensure our veterans, our elderly, our disabled, our poor, and our children receive the care and services they need. He will work to create long-term jobs that provide higher pay, better benefits, and lead us into the future, all while ensuring that we protect Oregon's beautiful landscapes and natural resources.

Mike believes in the philosophy of servant leadership. A servant leader is someone with an innate desire to serve, who will always place policies before politics, issues before identities, and people before profit. Servant leadership is a decision-making structure which places the highest value on the best interests of those being served. This is how a true democratic republic is supposed to operate. A servant leader takes responsibility and makes the tough decisions, but they do not control the narrative, nor do they assume sole authority. Rather, these servants work closely with their constituents to shape narratives, leading from beside them instead of above them. A servant leader measures their own success by the success of those who chose them to lead.

A vote for Mike Ellison is a vote for servant leadership.
